Praise for this book

What a lovely book. It teaches children about facing fears, but what I loved most were the pictures. I felt they really brought the dogs to life.

Such a cute book about over coming fears

Hendrix and Rocket: Being Brave is a beautifully illustrated and engaging story that will captivate young readers. Hendrix’s journey to find courage, inspired by big dog Rocket, is both relatable and heartwarming. Kristin’s debut shines with its vibrant illustrations and cheerful tone, perfectly capturing the special bond between pets and families. This book gently teaches children about overcoming fears, separation anxiety, and supporting others, making it an excellent resource for navigating early challenges. A charming addition to any child’s bookshelf.

A wonderfully illustrated book with vibrant colours that will help to engage and connect young children to the real world.
This delightful book with its cheerful tone is sure to support young readers and would be a wonderful addition to any beginner’s bookshelf!

A very entertaining and educational book. Fun for adults to read and keeps kids enthralled. A rare gem

Lovely tale of growing up. Hendrix’s ‘dad’ tells him that he is not a puppy anymore and he has to do things that big dogs do. What makes it worse is that it is raining outside. What happened that night? Cute tale and lovely illustrations of Hendrix the Brave.

This book is a story about a dog who is afraid of sleeping without his mom and dad and how he overcame his fears and even helped her little brother. A fun read for kids.

A simply told story about a dog who learns to overcome his fears. The illustrations are charming, but I would have preferred a more interesting narrative arc.

Hendrix and Rocket: Being Brave is an endearing story about friendship, growing up, and the bond between a boy and his dog. Hendrix discovers that he can be brave even though he is scared, and when he puts his fear aside to comfort his brother he becomes a true super hero.

Rocket and Hendrix are 2 dogs who have a very busy day before ending up a bit scared at night when left alone in the rain. A boy, who's also scared of the rain, comes to check on Hendrix. The dog makes him feel and thus shows how brave he is by caring for someone else. I think this book is mainly for dog lovers as other people wouldn't find it particularly engaging. The illustrations are well done. A page about the Tasmanian author is included at the end.

Yay for Hendrix!
I really love the point about how friendship, being scared and brave can all be connected. Just love this series!!

Hendrix and Rocket had a big day - wrestling, chicken-watching, and supervising Dad’s lunch (a very important job). But when bedtime rolled around, Hendrix faced his biggest challenge yet: sleeping without Mum and Dad! Hendrix learned that bravery isn’t about never being scared - it’s about showing up for those who need you, even when the rain is pouring and your own paws feel a little shaky. A charming and touching tale about growing up, finding courage, and the special bond between a boy and his dog.
